This air cleaner is the correct one for the Cobra Jet engine.
Note the vacuum bypass, the flat portion
around the carb and the snorkle angled rearward.
You'll also note that this T has it's heater is
bypassed and capped off. No T's came with A.C.
from the factory but has been seen as a dealer added option.
I don't wan't to go too specific on the engine because there
are a lot of good resourses on tha CJ engine though you can
see that the thermostat housing has been replaced with chrome one.

The correct one is the aluminum housing seen on this engine not the cast iron.
This air cleaner is one from a standard 390. it is quite a bit different
when seen side by side, but functionally the main problem is if you try
to use the heat riser tube from the exhaust manifold it won't line up easily.
Lastly the valve covers are different, both are correct. It's been seen that
the early production T's had the chromed stamped 'Powered by Ford' while the
later ones had the cast covers seen on other CJ mills. I don't know the specific
point that they changed it. It was after all a two month run.
